Nic Nemeth vs Trey Miguel

Trey single leg dropkicks him and flurries him in the corner. Nic hits a nice dropkick and lariats him over the top. Wentz gets in Nick's way outside then Trey tope con hilo's Nic. Trey backflips and dropkicks/double stomps Nic in the back.

Trey armlocks Nic and knees him in the gut. Nic back elbows him then Trey spears the post. Trey rakes the eyes and throws Nic's shoulder into the post. Trey gyrates then springboards. Nic dropkicks him in the knee.

Nic hits a nice splash in the corner then neckbreakers him. Nic hits elbow drops then Trey cradles him for 2. Nic hits a fameasser for 2. Wentz grabs Nic's foot and is ejected by the ref. Trey kicks Nic in the face then top rope meteora's him for 2. Trey goes for a superkick but is superkicked first. Nic then grabs the win.

It was a decent opener with the two matching up well. Nic wasn't going to lose and shouldn't have here.

Nic goes up the ramp and is nailed by Steve Maclin from behind. Steve short arm lariats him then hits mounted punches. Nic takes a double superkick from Trey and Wentz. Steve then hits a lifting double underhook ddt on Nic.

 

Big Kon and Deaner said TNA has proven that it's hard to kill. Kon says the design is dead. He said it's dead because he says it's dead. He said it's time to remind the world who the baddest man in TNA is and it starts tonight.

Maclin, Wentz and Trey celebrate in the back. Steve said he likes this tea mand it's a good mix. They walk past Mike Bailey and argue. Wentz said he beat him last time they fought and isn't afraid to do it again. Maclin then pulls him away.

The Decay (Rosemary and Havok) vs Mila Moore and Savannah Thorne

Rose gets a waistlock on then takes a back elbow. Rose bites Mila in the head then Mile hits forearms. Rose headscissors her over the top rope. Thorne slaps Rose then Havok gets in. Mila avoids a tag. Thorne ducks Havok and hits forearms. Havok headbutts her then death valley drivers her.

Thorne takes a sky high + neckbreaker and is pinned.

It was a short squash with Thorne and Mila really trying to avoid Havok here. Sadly, there wasn't a lot else to report. I liked the finisher they used here.

MK Ultra are interviewed. They said they want their rematch with The Decay at No Surrender. Two other girls come in and complain about being attacked by them. They said they started a fight they can't finish. They then set up Jodi Threat vs Masa Slamovich for tonight. 

The Sound Check with Josh Alexander

Alan Angels interviews Josh Alexander. He asks him what he thinks of the place. He said Josh had a big announcement last week and was wondering what it is. Josh said the only thing left for him to do is become TNA World Champ. Alan said Josh has to step on toes from time to time to get there and Josh disagrees. Josh says it's about winning matches and said he worked for this. Alan said Josh owes someone a match and Josh wants to know who. Alan said Josh knows who it is. alan said Josh is coming off ungrateful and not showing the best example for his kids. Josh said he crossed the line and leaves. Alan tells us to check out the next episode of The Sound Check. 

Brian Meyers vs Kevin Knight

Kevin said Brian has friends who have his back and Kevin said he does as well. Kevin said he never flies solo. They shove each other and Brian is knocked over. Brian side headlocks him and shoulders him over. Kevin dropkicks him in the knee and standing frogsplashes Brian's back.

Kevin works the arm and double knee drops it. Kevin springboard armdrags him then springboard crossbodies him. They go outside and Kevin is backdropped on the floor. We go to PiP break and return. Brian snapmares and sleepers him.

Brian pops him up, Kevin lands on his shoulders and dropkicks him. Brian is sent out then Kevin plancha's him. Kevin does a high springboard lariat for 2. Kevin jumps over a lariat, superkicks him then jumping ddt's him for 2. Brian kicks the rope into Kevin's crotch while he re-enters the ring and implant ddt's him for 2.

Brian runs at him and gets dropkicked. Brian hits a nice lariat for the win.

It was a nice little match here. Kevin's jumping ability is just insane and we got to see him fly around some before being put down.

Alisha Edwards and Eddie Edwards come down after. They surround Kevin then Kushida comes down to help. The heels back down.

Chris Sabin is interviewed and they talk about the Mustafa Ali promo. Sabin expects him to come after the X title since Ali said he was the X Factor. He said he knows who he is and he's impressive. Ali then pops up on the tv behind him. Ali talks about change being necessary and happening when fear is faced head on. Sabin said he guesses the speculation is over.

The Good Hands walk in and are excited about this and say Ali will be the next x-division champ. Sabin questions this and challenges one of them to a match next week since they think he is so easy to beat. They say they know Ali will be watching.

Frankie Kazarian comes out to talk. He said people want to know why he betrayed Eric Young. He said he came back to TNA and saved the company. He said he has given everything to the company and the business. He said he has earned the right to do what he wants. He said he has tried to be a decent man in indecent times and said that stops. He said he has no desire to be a hero to the fans and said the only thing they like more than a hero is watching the hero fail. He said the hero must become a monster to succeed in this business.

He said Eric Young is the heartbeat of TNA and has done it all. He said EY has held the title multiple times while he has been a soldier in the trenches. He said history doesn't remember soldiers, they remember kings. He said he wants to become the face of TNA and said he's willing to lose friends over it. He said Eric Young is a means to an end. He said every decision he makes is for the betterment of TNA. He said he walks a higher path and so be it if he has to do it alone. He says the fans have permission to hate him now.

The System celebrate in the back. Alex Shelley comes up to them. He said he wants to take his title back at No Surrender. Moose said he beat him with one arm and accepts his challenge. Alex said he's taking his title, not asking for a shot. Moose says there's 4 of them and one of him and he says he'll take them on now. Moose said that's not how The System works and tells him he will find out how it works.

We get an Ash By Elegance video with her posing and being all dressed up.

Deaner comes out. He said something that he created is over. He said The Design is dead. Deaner said it's his fault as he thought you could take something and breathe new life into it. He said he thought he could turn Violent By Design into something more beautiful but couldn't. He said if it's dead, it's never going to rise and come back to life.

PCO is then stretchered in.

PCO vs Deaner

PCO blocks punches and hits his own. PCO lariats him. Deaner gets stuck on the 2nd buckle and takes a codebreaker. PCO elbow slices him then top rope moonsaults him to win it.

It was a quick squash.

Kon attacks PCO after, knocking him off the buckles. Kon teases helping Deaner then lariats him. Kon says it's over when he says it's over and twists his neck. PCO sits up. Kon claw slams him then puts the claw on his face. 

AJ Francis is with a camera man. They go up to Rich Swann. He said Joe Hendry got the better of him because Swann had no one to watch his back. Swann said isn't this the same thing he pitched to him last week? Swann said he's not buying what AJ is selling. Rhino walks by and AJ asks if he needs help with Crazzy Steve. Rhino tells him to f-off. Swann said nobody messes with AJ right now in TNA and AJ says "money though".

We see a video of Jordynne Grace at The Royal Rumble. We see her mom and they talk about how it was her dream to be at The Rumble. She said she thought something would happen to stop this. She said she wore TNA colors and said she fels confident. We see clips of her in The Rumble.

Jody Threat vs Masha Slamovich

They hockey fight to start. Jody forearm flurries her then back elbows her. Jody hits corner lariats then Masha koppo kicks her. Masha snapmares her by the hair then PK's her for 2.

Masha hits headbutts and a suplex for 2. Masha hits kicks to the body and then Jody sunset flips her. Masha rolls her up for 2. Masha is tripped into the 2nd rope then Jody is tripped into the 2nd rope. Jody short arm lariats her. Jody pump kicks her to the side of the head and germans her.

Jody's feet are grabbed by Killer Kelly then Dani Luna nails Kelly. Masha spin kicks Jodi\y then hits a nasty snap northern lights suplex and wins it.

They had two messy looking moves here but I did like this. They were aggressive with each other and it ended at just about the right time.

We go to the back and Kushida gets jumped by The System. Eddie Edwards says The System says hi.

TNA Tag Titles - Best of 3 Series Match 1 - The Grizzled Young Veterans vs ABC (Chris Bey and Ace Austin)

Zack wristlocks Bey. Bey rolls out and kips up then takes a forearm to the face. Bey does a nice jumping kick. Ace uses Bey's back to kick Zack then Bey jumps off of Ace's back to attack Zack. Zack takes a double stomp to the back from Bey. Ace avoids a double suplex then Bey top rope crossbodies The Vets. The Vets are dropkicked out.

We go to PiP break and return. Bey fights his way out of the corner and Zack stops his tag. Bey takes corner attacks and a dropkick/leg lariat. Drake slams Bey for 2 then chinlocks him. Zack double underhook suplexes Bey then chinlocks him.

Bey spinning neckbreakers Zack then drake is tagged in. Bey tags Ace in. Ace russian legsweeps Drake then legdrops him. Ace springboard double dropkicks The Vets. He does some odd drop onto Drake. Ace punches Zack then Drake takes a double enzugiri in the corner. Bey top rope frogsplashes Drake for 2.

Ace spin kicks Drake then Zack puts Ace in the corner for a Drake dropkick. Drake hits mounted forearms on Ace. Drake comes off the top and is pin kicked by Ace. Ace corner lariats Zack then Zack takes a torture rack neckbreaker + springboard kick.

The 4 push each other then trade shots. Drake step up enzugiri's Ace. Drake takes a double enzugiri then Bey topes Zack. Drake sends Bey into the steps. Ace kicks Zach from the apron then fosbury flops him. Drake pulls down Ace with his towel by the throat. Ace takes a double codebreaker and is pinned.

I wasn't a huge fan of this. The hot tag segment wasn't that great and they just didn't do a good job with the flow of this.

Overall thoughts: It was a decent show. I liked the opener. Threat/Masha was fun and Myers/Knight had a decent match.
